Email Signature Glossary
- HTML Email Signature
- An email signature built with HTML. It allows for rich elements like images, links, colors, and structured layouts, which is crucial for corporate branding.
- Inline CSS
- A method of applying CSS directly into the HTML 'style' attribute. Since many email clients strip out external or head CSS, inline CSS is mandatory for signatures.
- Table Layout
- Using <table> tags for layout positioning. While outdated for modern web development, it remains the standard for email signatures to maintain compatibility with older clients like Outlook.
- Base64 Encoding
- A way to convert binary data (like images) into a string. It allows embedding images directly within the HTML, though some strict email clients may block them.
- CTA (Call to Action)
- Elements designed to prompt an immediate response or encourage an action, like a button linking to a webinar or a product download.
Frequently Asked Questions
- Q.Are my personal details or images uploaded to a server?
- No. Everything runs securely in your local browser. Your information is never sent to our servers.
- Q.Can I use this in Gmail or Outlook?
- Yes. Just click the "Copy Signature" button and paste it directly into your email client's signature settings.
- Q.Why isn't my profile photo displaying in some emails?
- We use Base64 encoding to embed images. While convenient, some email clients (like Gmail on certain setups) may block them for security. For maximum compatibility, host the image on your own server and use its URL.
- Q.Can I edit the generated HTML code manually?
- Absolutely. Use the "Copy HTML Source" button to get the raw code, which you can then tweak in any text editor before using it.

How HTML Signatures Work
Unlike modern web browsers, email clients (Gmail, Outlook, Apple Mail) use vastly different and often outdated HTML/CSS rendering engines. For instance, desktop Outlook uses the Microsoft Word engine, which cannot interpret Flexbox or CSS Grid.
To overcome this, all templates in this generator are built using highly compatible table layouts (<table>, <tr>, <td>) and use strict inline CSS for styling to guarantee rendering across the widest array of software.
The copy function utilizes the `Clipboard API` to simultaneously write rich text (`text/html`) and plain text (`text/plain`) to the system clipboard, allowing email clients to automatically select the optimal format upon pasting.
