About Maze Generator
The Maze Generator is a free tool that allows you to automatically generate an infinite number of mazes in your browser, suitable for everyone from toddlers to adults, and print or download them for free.
No complicated settings or software installation are required. Simply choose the difficulty (size), and a new maze with a completely different route is instantly created every time. You can print the generated maze directly onto A4 paper with a single click, or save it as a PNG image to your device.
All data processing is completed within your browser, and there is no communication with external servers. You can use it safely and securely for educational purposes, brain training, or just passing the time.
How to Make and Print Mazes
Choose Maze Difficulty
From the settings panel, select the difficulty and size that suits your needs, such as "Easy (10x10)" or "Hard (30x30)". The larger the size, the finer and more complex the paths become.
Generate Maze
Clicking the "✨ Generate New Maze" button will automatically create a maze with a different route every time using a random algorithm. By turning on the "Show Solution" switch, you can also view the correct path from start to goal highlighted in red.
Print or Save
Once the maze is generated, you can print it directly from your home printer by pressing the "🖨️ Print (A4)" button. Alternatively, click the "💾 Save as Image (PNG)" button to save it to your smartphone or PC, so you can enjoy it later or share it on social media.
Maze Glossary
- Maze
- A puzzle where you find the correct path from start to finish while avoiding dead ends and branches. It is also popular as an educational toy that develops spatial awareness and concentration.
- Recursive Backtracker
- One of the most common algorithms for generating mazes automatically. Starting from a grid completely filled with walls, it digs paths by randomly breaking down walls two squares ahead, creating a "perfect maze" without any loops (paths that go around in circles).
- Random Generation
- Creating unpredictable results using programmed random numbers, without any fixed patterns. In this tool, this mechanism allows tens of thousands of different mazes to be generated each time the button is pressed.
- Pathfinding Algorithm
- An algorithm that discovers the correct route from the starting point to the goal in a maze. This tool calculates the correct path internally to support the solution display feature.
- Local Processing
- A secure data processing method where the maze generation and image output are completed entirely within your own smartphone or computer, without passing through external servers on the internet.
- HTML5 Canvas
- A technology for dynamically drawing graphics and images on a web browser using JavaScript. This tool uses it to draw the detailed lines of the maze beautifully and quickly.
Frequently Asked Questions
- Q.Can I use it for free as many times as I want?
- Yes, it's completely free and unlimited. Every time you click 'Generate New Maze', a new infinite variety of mazes will be created, so enjoy it to your heart's content.
- Q.Can I use the generated mazes for commercial purposes?
- Yes, you can freely use the maze images or printouts generated by this tool for personal use, educational materials in schools/cram schools, event distribution, or commercial publications. (No copyright notice is required)
- Q.Will the solution be printed if I print the maze?
- The printed content will be exactly what you see in the preview. If you don't want the solution printed, please turn off the 'Show Solution' toggle before pressing the print button.
- Q.Can I print from a smartphone?
- Yes, you can use this tool from smartphones and tablets. If your device is connected to a printer, you can print it directly. Alternatively, you can save it as an image and print it using a printing app.
- Q.Is it possible to generate a maze that cannot be solved (no path to the goal)?
- No, the algorithm used in this tool mathematically guarantees that 'there is always at least one path from the start to the goal'. There may be dead ends, but an unsolvable maze will never be generated.
Use Cases for Mazes
Educational printouts for toddlers and children
As an educational material for nurseries, kindergartens, and homes. Print out the "Easy" size to help kids practice drawing lines and train their concentration.
Brain training for the elderly
For recreational activities at nursing care facilities and adult day care centers, or as daily brain training. Solving mazes of moderate difficulty helps maintain cognitive functions.
Entertainment for events and parties
As handouts for local events, festivals, and children's gatherings. Because you can prepare a large number of original mazes, they can be used to pass time while waiting or as part of a stamp rally.
Puzzle to pass time during commutes
Set to the "Extreme" size and try to reach the goal using just your eyes without showing the solution on your smartphone. It's a great digital puzzle for your spare time.
