About Word Cloud Generator

The Word Cloud Generator is a free web tool that analyzes your pasted text and automatically creates beautiful visualizations based on word frequency entirely within your browser.

Because words that appear more frequently are displayed larger, you can visually grasp the characteristics and keywords of a text at a glance (visualization). Along with English text, this tool supports Japanese text out of the box using a lightweight morphological analyzer engine (TinySegmenter) to automatically segment words.

Images are generated locally in your PC or smartphone's browser without sending any data to a server. This means you can safely use it even for texts containing sensitive or confidential information without worrying about data leaks.

how to,

How to use

STEP 1

Input or Paste Text

Copy and paste the text you want to turn into a word cloud into the text area on the left (or top on mobile). Preparing a good amount of text—like survey free-text responses, blog articles, speech drafts, or lyrics—will generate a cleaner and more meaningful word cloud.

STEP 2

Customize Settings

Adjust settings as needed. By changing 'Max Words', you can alter the density of the words displayed. Also, by entering comma-separated words in the 'Exclude Words' field (e.g., the, and, I), you can hide meaningless words that you don't want to show up. Once ready, click the 'Generate Word Cloud' button.

STEP 3

Save Word Cloud Image

The word cloud will appear in the preview area on the right (or bottom on mobile). If you want to change colors or layout, you can click 'Generate' again to recreate it as many times as you like. When you have a design you like, click 'Save as Image' to download a high-quality PNG image without any watermarks.

Glossary

Word Cloud
A visual representation of text data, where the size and color of each word indicates its frequency or importance. Also known as a tag cloud.
Morphological Analysis
The technology used to split sentences into their smallest meaningful units (morphemes or words). While English separates words with spaces, this process is essential for languages like Japanese.
Stop Words
Common words like 'the', 'is', 'at', 'which', or words that appear too frequently to be distinguishing features of a text. By excluding them, important keywords stand out in the word cloud.
D3.js
A JavaScript library for dynamically visualizing data in web browsers. This tool uses the D3.js ecosystem (d3-cloud) for word placement calculations and SVG drawing.
Frequency
The number of times a certain word appears within the entire text. In a word cloud, a higher frequency means a larger font size.
Visualization
Converting text or numerical data into charts, graphs, or images to make it intuitively easy for humans to understand.
Watermark
A mark, like a site logo, forcibly added to images by many free tools. This tool allows you to save clean images without any watermarks.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q.Is my text data saved or published on your servers?
No, all text data and generated images are processed entirely on your device (within your browser). Your data is never sent to or saved on our servers, making it completely safe to use even for sensitive or confidential documents.
Q.Can I use the generated images for commercial purposes?

Q.How is Japanese text segmented into words?
For Japanese text, this tool uses 'TinySegmenter', a lightweight morphological analyzer that runs in the browser, to segment text into words. While it may not be as perfectly accurate as server-side AI dictionaries, it has the advantage of being extremely fast and completely private.
Q.Meaningless words like 'the' or 'is' are showing up too large. How can I remove them?
You can enter the words you want to remove in the 'Exclude Words' field (separated by commas) and press the Generate button again. The specified words will be excluded from your word cloud.
Q.Can I specify custom colors for specific words?
In the current version, individual color selection is not supported. Colors are automatically assigned from a random color palette.
Q.Can I use this tool on a smartphone or tablet?
