Glossary
- Face Proportion / Standard Ratio
- The ratio of the face to the entire photo area. Use our manual guides to position your face correctly according to these standards.
- Resolution (px) vs. DPI
- Resolution is the total number of pixels, while DPI (Dots Per Inch) is the print density. For physical sizes (mm), a high DPI (usually 300) ensures both accurate dimensions and high print quality.
- 300 DPI
- Recommended for high-quality ID photo prints. This tool converts your selected millimeter dimensions into precise 300 DPI pixel sizes for output.
- L-size (89x127mm)
- A standard photo print size in Japan and many other countries. By downloading the L-size layout, you can easily print multiple ID photos cheaply at a local convenience store or home printer.
- Crop Marks
- Guidelines indicating where to cut the printed photo. The generated L-size layout includes accurate crop marks for standard ID sizes.
FAQ
- Q.How can I print this at a convenience store?
- Select the 'L-size print layout' option, download the image to your smartphone, and use a local convenience store photo print app to print it as an L-size photo.
- Q.Should I use a white or blue background?
- For general resumes, either is fine. A white background gives a clean look, while a blue one highlights facial contours. However, some specific visas (like the Chinese visa) strictly require a white background, so always check the official requirements.
- Q.How can I make sure the printed size is accurate?
- Measure the printed L-size photo with a ruler. If you cut along the generated crop marks, it will match the exact millimeter dimensions you selected.

- To save money on expensive photo booths by using cheap convenience store prints.
