FAQ
- Q.What is the canvas size?
- In this editor, you can choose from 5 square canvas sizes: 8x8, 16x16, 32x32, 48x48, and 64x64. 16x16 is recommended for retro 8-bit style, while 32x32 or larger is ideal for detailed characters and icons. Choose the best size for your project.
- Q.Are images sent to a server?
- No image data or drawings are sent to external servers. This tool uses the HTML5 Canvas API, meaning all processing from drawing to PNG generation happens entirely locally in your browser. You can safely create confidential or private materials.
- Q.Can I use transparent pixels?
- Yes, you can. By selecting "Transparent" from the palette and drawing on the canvas, you can clear pixels just like an eraser. This is extremely useful for creating game sprites with transparent backgrounds or social media icons.
- Q.Is there Undo/Redo?
- Yes, the tool remembers your last 50 actions, allowing you to Undo or Redo at any time. If you accidentally fill with the wrong color or misplace a pixel, you can instantly revert it with one click, ensuring a stress-free drawing experience.
- Q.What is the saved image size?
- When downloading the PNG, you can choose a scale factor of 1x (original), 2x, 4x, or 8x. For example, saving a 16x16 canvas at 8x scale will output a crisp 128x128 pixel image. We recommend larger scales (4x-8x) for clear visibility on social media.
- Q.Does it work on smartphones?
- Yes, it is fully optimized for mobile touch controls. You can tap to place pixels or drag to draw lines on your smartphone screen. It’s perfect for quickly sketching pixel art ideas in your browser while on the go.
- Q.Can I choose any color?
- In addition to a carefully curated 32-color retro palette, the tool features a standard color picker. You can freely add and use any custom color using HEX or RGB values, allowing you to create precise gradients and exact color schemes.
- Q.Is my work saved automatically?
- In the current version, if you close the browser tab or reload the page, your drawing data will be reset and lost. For longer sessions, please remember to frequently download your work using the "Save PNG" button to keep local backups.
