Glitch Image Generator

Glitch Image Generator is a free browser-based tool that allows you to easily add cyberpunk-style glitch effects and noise to your photos and illustrations.

You can intuitively combine multiple effects using sliders, such as RGB shift (chromatic aberration), slicing that simulates video distortion, and CRT-style noise or scanlines. All processing is done locally on your device (PC or smartphone), meaning your images are never sent to any server. You can safely edit private photos without worrying about data leaks.

Glitch

Originally referring to a fault or temporary bug in electronic equipment or software, in the context of art, it refers to cyberpunk-style visual expressions (glitch art) created by intentionally distorting images or videos.

RGB Shift (Chromatic Aberration)

A color bleeding phenomenon caused by the difference in the refractive index of a lens depending on the wavelength of light. In digital art, it is created by intentionally shifting and overlapping the red (R), green (G), and blue (B) channels of an image slightly, creating a retro and unsettling atmosphere.

Slice (Block Noise)

An effect where parts of the image are cut into horizontal bands and shifted left and right, similar to when a video signal is distorted.

Scanlines

Fine horizontal stripes seen across the entire screen of old CRT monitors and arcade game machines. Effective for creating a nostalgic atmosphere.

Canvas API

A technology for dynamically drawing and manipulating shapes and images in the browser using JavaScript. This tool uses this technology to achieve real-time image processing using only the processing power of your device.

Q.Will my uploaded photos be published on the internet?

No, this tool uses completely local processing (within the browser). Your image data is never sent to or stored on our servers, ensuring total privacy.

Q.Does the final image have a watermark or logo?

No, the images you create will not have any watermark or our site's logo. You can save and use clean images completely free of charge.

Q.Can I use this on my smartphone?

Yes, it works perfectly on standard browsers for iPhone and Android. You can select photos directly from your phone's library and use the sliders with your fingers.

Q.What will the image quality be when saved?

It will be saved as a high-quality PNG format while maintaining the resolution of the original uploaded image. However, extremely large images may be resized due to browser memory limits.

Q.I can't get the effect I want...

If you're unsure which effects to use, try pressing the 'Randomize' button a few times. The unexpected combination of parameters can sometimes create surprisingly cool images.
