The MAC Address Vendor Lookup tool identifies the device manufacturer from the first 3 bytes (OUI) of a MAC address using the IEEE public OUI database embedded in the browser. No external API calls are needed. It supports colon, hyphen, or no-separator formats, detects locally administered (random) MACs, and offers bulk lookup with CSV export.

Glossary
- MAC Address
- A 48-bit (6-byte) unique identifier assigned to network interfaces.
- OUI (Organizationally Unique Identifier)
- The first 3 bytes of a MAC address, registered with IEEE to identify the manufacturer.
- IEEE
- Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers. The OUI registration authority.
- Locally Administered Address
- A MAC address with the LA bit (2nd bit) set to 1 — typically a privacy-randomized MAC used by iOS/Android.
- Random MAC
- Random MACs generated on iOS 14+/Android 10+ for privacy. OUI lookup cannot identify manufacturers.
- NIC (Network Interface Controller)
- The hardware component for network connectivity. Each NIC is assigned a unique MAC.

- Q.Is my MAC address sent to a server?
- No. All lookups are performed locally in your browser with no network requests.
- Q.What if the MAC is randomized (iPhone/Android)?
- Random MACs have the LA bit set and cannot be attributed to a manufacturer. The tool detects and flags them.
- Q.How current is the OUI database?
- The tool embeds the full, official IEEE OUI database (approx. 40,000 entries) rather than a sample. It is periodically updated to reflect the latest complete data.
- Q.Does it support EUI-64?
- Yes. The first 6 characters (OUI portion) work identically for EUI-64.
